This holiday season, the Detective Robert “Bobby” Garten Memorial Fund is proud to launch our first annual Fill Bobby’s Boat Toy Drive!

Beginning November 2nd, we’re bringing the community together to collect new, unwrapped toys for children and families in need through Hartford PAL and other local PAL programs. Inspired by Bobby’s love for boating, passion for the youth of Hartford and his dedication to giving back, our goal is to fill his boat with toys and spread a little extra holiday joy. With the help of local businesses, schools, police departments, and community members, we hope to make this new tradition a meaningful way to carry on Bobby’s legacy of service, generosity, and community.

Toy donations will be accepted through December 13th at participating drop-off locations.

How Can You Help Fill Bobby’s Boat?

There are several ways to get involved and help us spread holiday cheer to local children and families!

Donate a Toy: Purchase a new, unwrapped toy and drop it off at one of our participating collection locations by December 13th. The list of drop offs are listed below.

Shop Our Amazon Wishlist: Browse our Amazon Wishlist and purchase directly from the list. The gift will get mailed directly to us. We work directly with the PAL staff to continuously add items the kids would like! Find the list here: AMAZON WISHLIST

Organize a Group Donation: Rally your coworkers, teammates, friends, or family to collect toys together!

Make a Monetary/Gift Card Donation: Help us purchase additional toys and gifts for children of all ages. Gift cards are helpful too! Along with the toys, we plan on purchasing several gift cards to gift to teens & parents! MAILING ADDRESS FOR GIFTCARD/MONETARY: Detective Robert Bobby Garten Memorial Fund / Attn: Kimber Garten, PO Box 290040 Wethersfield, CT 06129

Spread the Word: Share our toy drive with friends, family, and on social media to help us reach even more people!

Every donation, big or small, helps us get one step closer to filling Bobby’s boat and making the holidays brighter for children in our community!
